Our Curriculum
At Redbud Farm School, students become directly involved in their physical and social environments. They learn best through personal life experiences where they are able to observe, explore, and document the world around them.
Our Guiding Principles:
Holistic Education:
We believe that education is not confined to traditional classroom walls. Our approach combines rigorous academic learning with hands-on activities, fostering a well-rounded development that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and practical skills. Through experiential learning, students discover the joy of exploration and the satisfaction of discovering knowledge through their own efforts.Positive student/teacher interactions.
Nature as a Classroom:
Our farm campus provides an unparalleled learning environment where students engage with the natural world. We recognize the inherent value of connecting with nature and incorporate outdoor experiences into our daily routines. The farm setting allows students to develop a deep appreciation for the environment, fostering a lifelong commitment to conservation and sustainable practices.
Hands-on Learning:
Learning is most meaningful when it is hands-on and relevant. Our curriculum is designed to engage students through interactive projects, problem-solving challenges, and real-world applications. Whether cultivating gardens, caring for animals, or participating in farm-to-table experiences, students learn the value of hard work, responsibility, and teamwork.
Environmental Stewardship:
We believe in nurturing a sense of responsibility towards our planet. By integrating environmental education into our curriculum, we empower students to become informed and engaged citizens who understand the impact of their choices on the world around them. Our students graduate not only with academic knowledge but also with a deep-rooted sense of environmental stewardship.
Individualized Learning:
Our farm campus provides an unparalleled learning environment where students engage with the natural world. We recognize the inherent value of connecting with nature and incorporate outdoor experiences into our daily routines. The farm setting allows students to develop a deep appreciation for the environment, fostering a lifelong commitment to conservation and sustainable practices.
Community and Collaboration:
We foster a sense of community where students, teachers, parents, and staff work together to create a supportive and enriching learning environment. Through collaborative projects, peer interactions, and community engagement, students develop social skills, empathy, and a strong sense of belonging.
Cultivating Lifelong Learners:
Our ultimate goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning. By providing a diverse range of experiences, encouraging curiosity, and instilling a growth mindset, we prepare our students to be adaptable, confident, and curious individuals ready to face the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Pre-K Program Ages 4-5 years
Our unique curriculum focuses on HANDS-ON LEARNING in each developmental area. Classes are held in indoor and outdoor classroom settings, and students are immersed in nature-based learning challenges that help to encourage independence skills and PROBLEM-SOLVING skills through the curriculum. All curriculum and activities meet the Oklahoma Academic Standards for learning.
Our indoor classrooms are specifically designed with neutral colors and nature-inspired furnishings and décor. This creates an environment that reduces over-stimulation for young students and allows them to focus on hands-on learning opportunities.
Our outdoor classrooms provide an opportunity for STEM learning, gardening, science observation, nature exploration, and so much more! We find that when students have more opportunities for outdoor learning and being in the fresh air, they have better focus and fewer behavior problems, and they are healthier, happier kids!
Primary Program Grades K-6th
Our Elementary classrooms, located at our Penn Campus, are set up to be calm and relaxing spaces so students feel safe, secure, and comfortable, just like home! The environment helps to foster the growth of confident and socially developed students. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm.
Our curriculum provides a student-focused education program with a high emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning activities, environmental education, problem-solving, and independence skills in addition to the traditional core subjects. Our small class sizes allow teachers to build meaningful relationships with their students and prepare activities tailored to their interests.
We believe that there is more than one way to solve a problem. As a result, group work and collaboration are key components of our classroom learning style. By working with others, students develop communication and problem-solving skills as they are exposed to new ideas and ways of thinking.
